Play Therapy

Unfortunately, children do need counselling at times. From approximately aged 3 and up, play therapy and/or talk therapy (depending on the child) helps children share and work out their concerns. Play therapy uses a combination of play and therapeutic counselling techniques to help children express their thoughts and fears in a safe environment. Using toys, art, and other media, the child is helped to work through his or her problems.

Some of the problems that little children deal with include sexual abuse, domestic violence, alcoholism in the family, divorce, parental access visits, step-parents, bullying and learning difficulties such as ADD/ADHD, which leads to problems with learning, fitting in and social skills.
